More summer fun

We have finially had some really warm and sunny summer weather the past few weeks and we have been trying to make the most of it. We have spent a lot of time swimming, skiing, tubing and wakeboarding up at the cabin. We took a warm late afternoon hike through Woolsfeld Woods at home and Emma enjoyed filling her nature bucket with treasures. We came out with about 100 mosquito bites, but it was fun anyway.

Yesterday we went to Como Zoo and Park. We do this every summer and have a blast. We see the animals first, then have a picnic in the park, and then go on the rides. Emma's favorite was the flamingos, and Abby loved the monkeys. Both girls loved the antique carosel they have there, but Abby did not like the other rides so much. I put her on one with Emma and the whole time she kept saying, "no, no no!" They had to stop the ride so I could get her off. Guess she is not ready for those yet. I can't believe it's halfway through August and time to start thinking about preschool again. We found out Emma has her same teacher as last year and she will be in school 3 days a week this year- on Fridays she will be there 9-3 for kindergarten readiness! Wow- I hope that goes ok! I am also doing an ECFE class w/ Abby and both the girls have gymnastics. We should be busy. I am trying to keep these last few weeks of summer as plan-free and spontaneous as possible.
